Citi Custom Cash Card Closed to New Applications — What to Do Instead

Citi just quietly closed the door on new Citi Custom Cash® Card applications. If you don't already have one, here's exactly what changed and what to apply for instead.
What Changed
- Closed May 28, 2026: Citi confirmed it's no longer accepting new applications for the $0-fee Custom Cash Card.
- Existing cardholders unaffected: you keep the same 5% cash back (on up to $500/billing cycle in your top category) with no changes.
- Product changes may still work: some existing Citi cardholders can still get Custom Cash by product-changing from another eligible card — for now.
