Atmos Rewards, the loyalty program for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, just launched Atmos Communities. You pick one community, and it gives you a set of extra perks built around how you travel: bonus status points, bonus points at certain destinations, discounts, or points back on award flights for kids.
You can join one community at a time and switch once per year. Here's what each one offers and how to pick the right one.
What Are Atmos Communities?
Atmos Communities are groups inside Atmos Rewards that each come with their own benefits. There are six communities right now. Two are only open to residents of Hawaii or Alaska, and the other four are open to any Atmos Rewards member.
- Huakaʻi by Hawaiian (Hawaii residents only)
- Club 49 (Alaska residents only)
- Global Locals
- Culinary Journeys
- Active Escapes
- Families On the Go

- You care about elite status and fly internationally: Global Locals, for the 10% status point boost.
- None of the above: Compare the featured destinations in Culinary Journeys and Active Escapes, and pick the one with places you're most likely to visit.
Since you can only switch once a year, set a reminder to review your pick when your travel plans change, or at the start of each year.
