ADA Credit Card 2026: World Elite Mastercard Rewards for Dentists
July 1, 2025

The American Dental Association has upgraded its credit card program. ADA members, their staff, and their families can now apply for the ADA Rewards World Elite Mastercard — a significant step up from the previous U.S. Bank Visa offering. Here's what changed, who qualifies, how the two card versions differ, and whether this card belongs in your wallet.
⚡ Updated June 2026: Card details verified against current information from ADA Member Advantage. Specific reward rates, fees, and APR are not quoted in this editorial review as they are subject to change — always confirm current terms at adamastercard.com before applying.
What Is the ADA Rewards World Elite Mastercard?
The ADA Rewards World Elite Mastercard® is a credit card program designed exclusively for American Dental Association members and their teams. It replaces the previous U.S. Bank Visa program that many ADA members had used for years.
The program is managed by Tallied Technologies and issued by FinWise Bank d/b/a Cottonwood Payments, pursuant to a license from Mastercard International Incorporated. Cards operate on the Mastercard network, which means worldwide acceptance.
Two versions are available:
ADA Rewards World Elite Mastercard — the personal card for ADA members, their staff, and family. Earns enhanced rewards on ADA-related and everyday personal spending categories including travel, gas, and groceries, with the highest rewards rate on ADA, state dental society, and select ADA Member Advantage-endorsed product purchases.
ADA Business Rewards World Elite Mastercard — the business card for dental practices. Optimized for practice-specific spending with elevated rewards on dental supply purchases and ADA-related purchases. Best suited for dentist-owners managing practice expenses.
Both versions qualify for World Elite Mastercard benefits, including Priority Pass lounge access — a premium perk not typically found on association-specific cards.
In our opinion, the upgrade from Visa to World Elite Mastercard represents a meaningful improvement. Priority Pass access alone adds tangible value for dentists who travel for continuing education, conferences, or personal trips.

Who Can Apply?
Eligibility is broader than many people assume. The program is available to:
- Active ADA members
- Dental office staff employed by ADA members
- Family members of ADA members
This means an entire dental practice — the dentist-owner, associates, front desk staff, hygienists, and dental assistants — can all access the program. Family members add an additional layer of value, since household members can earn rewards on everyday spending in the same program.
What about existing ADA Visa holders? If you previously held an ADA® Preferred Rewards Visa Signature® Card or ADA® Business Rewards Visa Signature® Card, your account was automatically converted to the new World Elite Mastercard starting November 2025. You should have received your new card in the mail and did not need to re-apply. Your existing unredeemed rewards points transferred automatically.
One important note: your card number changed with the network switch from Visa to Mastercard. If you had recurring charges set up on your old Visa, it's worth verifying with each merchant that billing was automatically updated during the transition.
Rewards Structure — Personal vs. Business Card

The two card versions are optimized for different spending profiles. The key distinction: the personal card rewards everyday consumer spending alongside ADA purchases, while the business card focuses on practice and supply spending.
ADA Rewards World Elite Mastercard (Personal):
- Highest earnings on ADA, state dental society, and select ADA Member Advantage-endorsed product purchases
- Elevated rewards on travel purchases
- Bonus rewards on gas and groceries
- Base rewards rate on all other purchases
ADA Rewards World Elite Business Mastercard (Business):
- Highest earnings on ADA, state dental society, and select ADA Member Advantage-endorsed product purchases
- Elevated rewards on dental supply purchases
- Base rewards rate on all other purchases
In our opinion, the personal card is the stronger choice for dentists who travel regularly for conferences or CE events, because of its dedicated travel rewards category. The business card is better suited for dentists who primarily want to maximize returns on practice supply spending without the need for a travel category.
Neither card requires an annual fee or charges foreign transaction fees — a notable benefit for dentists who attend international conferences or travel abroad. Always confirm current terms at adamastercard.com, as fee structures can change.
Redemption options: Points can be redeemed for travel, gift cards, cash back in the form of a statement credit, and more. The platform is described as flexible, which is appropriate for members who may prioritize different redemption styles.
World Elite Mastercard Benefits

Both cards carry World Elite Mastercard status, which comes with a suite of benefits beyond the rewards program itself. The most notable addition since the program launched:
Priority Pass lounge access — World Elite cardholders now have access to the Priority Pass airport lounge network. For dentists attending national conferences like ADA Annual, state meetings, or continuing education programs that involve air travel, this benefit adds genuine comfort and cost savings. Priority Pass access typically comes with premium travel cards carrying high annual fees — having it on a no-annual-fee professional association card is a meaningful value-add.
Fraud protection and card security — World Elite Mastercard includes best-in-class fraud monitoring and zero liability protection.
Additional World Elite perks — Mastercard World Elite benefits cover a range of travel and lifestyle protections and services. Review the full current World Elite benefits at Mastercard's website or through your cardholder agreement, as the complete benefit set is subject to Mastercard's current program terms.
The Transition from U.S. Bank ADA Visa
If you were an existing ADA Visa cardholder, here's a clear summary of what changed and what stayed the same:
What transferred automatically:
- All existing unredeemed rewards points
- Authorized users and employee cards
- Autopay settings (strongly recommended to verify at adamastercard.com)
- Your credit history — the transition does not affect your credit history, as the new card team bridged the tradelines
What changed:
- Card network: Visa → Mastercard
- New 16-digit account number, expiration date, and CVV
- Billing cycle: the new account cycles on the first of each month with a due date on the 21st (may differ from your previous cycle)
- Recurring charges: automatically updated, but worth verifying with each merchant
What stayed the same:
- Credit limit and APR (unless separately notified)
- Rewards earning on eligible categories
- No annual fee and no foreign transaction fee
For new applicants: Applications are open at adamastercard.com. New cardholders receive a welcome bonus offer that differs from the activation bonus available to upgraded cardholders.
Is the ADA Mastercard Worth It for Dental Professionals?
We think this card makes the most sense in two scenarios:
Strong fit:
- You spend meaningfully on ADA membership dues, state dental society dues, or ADA Member Advantage-endorsed products — this is where the card earns at its highest rate
- You travel regularly for CE, conferences, or personal reasons and want Priority Pass lounge access without paying a high-fee card annual fee
- You want a single card optimized for dental professional spending without juggling multiple cards
- You have staff or family members who could benefit from the same program
Weaker fit:
- Your practice's highest spending is in categories not covered by elevated rewards rates — in this case, a general-purpose business rewards card may offer better overall returns
- You already hold a premium travel card with Priority Pass and don't need a second source of lounge access
- You want a card with a direct upgrade path, which this program doesn't currently offer
The honest trade-off: The ADA Mastercard is deeply optimized for ADA-related purchases and delivers solid value in that specific category. Outside of ADA purchases and (for the personal card) travel, gas, and groceries, the base earning rate is competitive but not exceptional against general-purpose rewards cards. The smarter play for many dental practices is to use the ADA card for ADA and supply spending where it earns the most, and pair it with a general business rewards card for other categories.
Choosing Between the Personal and Business Card
The right choice depends primarily on how you'll use the card:
Choose the personal card if:
- You want travel rewards alongside ADA spending
- You're a dental professional who travels frequently for conferences, CE, or personal trips
- Family members will use the card for everyday household spending
Choose the business card if:
- Your primary goal is maximizing rewards on dental supply purchases
- You want clear separation between practice and personal spending for accounting purposes
- You're a practice owner who wants a dedicated business card for expense reporting
Can you hold both? The program includes both a personal and business version, and dentist-owners who travel frequently may find value in holding both — using the personal card for travel and personal spending, and the business card for practice supply purchases. This kind of card stacking is a common strategy for maximizing category-specific rewards.
How to Apply or Activate
For new applicants: Visit adamastercard.com to apply. Applications are open to active ADA members, their staff, and family members. The application is online and decisions are typically fast.
For existing ADA Visa holders who received a new card: Activate your new card at adamastercard.com on or after November 19, 2025. Do not use your old ADA Visa after November 18, 2025 — it is no longer valid.
If you haven't received your new card: Contact ADA Mastercard customer service at support@adamastercard.com or call 888.293.1595.
Setting up your online account: Upon activation, set up your online account at adamastercard.com to review autopay settings, check transferred rewards balances, and manage your account going forward.
Using Kudos to Maximize Your ADA Card Alongside Other Cards
The ADA Mastercard earns its highest rewards on a specific set of purchases. For everything else — office supplies, utilities, marketing, equipment — a well-chosen second card may outperform it. This is where Kudos helps.
Card selection at checkout: Kudos' browser extension automatically identifies which card in your wallet earns the most rewards for each purchase. When you're buying dental supplies through an ADA-endorsed vendor, Kudos confirms the ADA card is the right call. When you're buying equipment from a vendor not in that program, Kudos routes you to whichever card earns more on that category.
Portfolio management: Once your credit profile grows or your practice expenses scale, Kudos' card explorer tool lets you compare nearly 3,000 credit cards to see what other options exist for dental practice spending — including cards that may complement the ADA Mastercard rather than replace it.
Benefit tracking: Kudos' Hidden Perks feature surfaces protections and benefits across your full wallet. As a World Elite Mastercard holder, knowing which benefits you have available — and when to invoke them — helps you extract full value from the program.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible for the ADA Rewards World Elite Mastercard?
Active ADA members, dental office staff employed by ADA members, and family members of ADA members. The program was designed so entire dental practices and households can participate, not just the dentist-owner.
Is there an annual fee?
The ADA Rewards World Elite Mastercard currently carries no annual fee. Confirm current terms at adamastercard.com before applying, as fee structures can change.
Does the ADA Mastercard include Priority Pass airport lounge access?
Yes. Both the personal and business versions include access to the Priority Pass airport lounge network as part of their World Elite Mastercard benefits. This is a meaningful addition for dentists who travel for CE, conferences, or personal trips.
What happened to the old ADA Visa credit card?
The U.S. Bank ADA Visa program was replaced by the new ADA Rewards World Elite Mastercard starting November 2025. Existing cardholders were automatically converted — their unredeemed rewards points transferred, and new Mastercard cards were mailed in mid-November 2025. No re-application was required for existing holders.
Can I hold both the personal and business versions?
Yes. Dentist-owners who want to separate personal and practice spending can hold both cards. This also allows you to optimize rewards: the personal card for travel and everyday spending, the business card for dental supply purchases.
Where should I apply or manage my account?
Visit adamastercard.com to apply, activate, manage your account, check rewards balances, and update autopay settings. For support, contact the ADA Mastercard team at support@adamastercard.com or call 888.293.1595.
How does the ADA Mastercard compare to general-purpose business cards?
The ADA Mastercard earns at its best on ADA and dental society purchases — higher than most general-purpose cards in that category. Outside those categories, its base rate is competitive but not the highest available. Many dental professionals use the ADA card for ADA-related spending and pair it with a second business card for broader practice expenses. Use Kudos Explore to compare options side by side.
Will my credit history be affected by the transition from Visa to Mastercard?
No. The new ADA credit card team bridged the tradelines during the transition, so your credit history remains intact. Your credit limit and APR also remained the same unless you were separately notified of changes.
