Amex Flying Blue Transfer Bonus: 25% Through Oct. 31, Plus a 20% Aeromexico Offer
September 27, 2026

American Express is offering a 25% bonus on Membership Rewards transfers to Air France-KLM Flying Blue through Oct. 31, 2026. A separate 20% bonus to Aeromexico Rewards is also running, though the two programs are not equally good deals.

How the Amex to Flying Blue Bonus Works
From Oct. 1 through Oct. 31, 2026, U.S. Membership Rewards transfers to Flying Blue earn a 25% bonus, so 1,000 points become 1,250 miles. You can use it an unlimited number of times, with a maximum of 999,999 points per transaction.
Membership Rewards points come from cards like the American Express® Gold Card and The Platinum Card® from American Express. The bonus is built into the transfer ratio, so you see it when you transfer, and transfers are generally instant.

Is Flying Blue Worth Transferring To?
Flying Blue is a strong SkyTeam program, with good pricing on many Air France and KLM transatlantic flights. Saver award space can be hard to find, though Air France and KLM reportedly release more seats to their own members than to partner programs.
One change to know about: in September 2026, Flying Blue moved to tiered pricing. The cheapest awards are now "Light" fares, and keeping the same inclusions as before requires a "Standard" fare, which costs more.

What About the Aeromexico 20% Bonus?
Membership Rewards transfers to Aeromexico Rewards also carry a 20% bonus. The usual 1:1.6 ratio becomes about 1:1.92, close to two Aeromexico points per Amex point.
Sources disagree on the end date: some list Oct. 30 and others Oct. 31, so confirm it on Amex's transfer page. Aeromexico's award chart isn't very competitive for the most part, and a bigger ratio does not help if the program charges more points for the same flight. Compare it with Flying Blue before you move anything.
Should You Transfer Points Before You Have a Plan?
Transfers can't be reversed, and a program can change its pricing after you move points, as Flying Blue just did. Bonuses stretch your points, but they don't remove that risk.
All major transferable currencies partner with Flying Blue, and bonuses on other programs show up often. If you don't have a trip in mind, you can wait for a bonus from the program you would use anyway. Our transfer partner guide shows what else your points can reach.
The Bottom Line
A 25% bonus is about as good as Flying Blue bonuses get, so it makes sense if you have a specific Air France or KLM award lined up. Skip it if you are only transferring because the bonus exists. Check award space first, then transfer before Oct. 31.
