October 2026 Credit Card Transfer Bonuses: Amex, Chase, Citi, and Capital One
September 27, 2026

October is a strong month for transfer bonuses. American Express, Chase, Citi, and Capital One are all running promotions that give you extra airline miles or hotel points when you move your card rewards to a partner program.
A transfer bonus means you get more partner points than usual for the same number of card points. For example, a 30% bonus turns 10,000 card points into 13,000 partner points or miles (at a 1:1 standard ratio). Here's every bonus running this month, when each one ends, and how to decide whether it's worth using.
October 2026 Transfer Bonuses at a Glance
- Amex to Hilton Honors: 30% bonus, through October 14
- Chase to Marriott Bonvoy: 70% bonus, through October 15
- Citi to Avianca LifeMiles: 25% bonus, through October 24
- Citi to Japan Airlines Mileage Bank: 30% bonus, through October 24
- Amex to Aeromexico Rewards: 20% bonus, through October 30
- Amex to Air France-KLM Flying Blue: 25% bonus, through October 31
- Capital One to British Airways Club: 20% bonus, through October 31
Transfers are one-way and can't be reversed, so only move points when you have a specific redemption in mind.
American Express Membership Rewards Transfer Bonuses
Hilton Honors: 30% Bonus (Through October 14)
Amex points normally transfer to Hilton at 1:2. With the 30% bonus, 1,000 Membership Rewards points become 2,600 Hilton Honors points. That sounds like a lot, but Hilton points are worth less per point than most airline miles, so compare the cost of your stay in cash before transferring.
Aeromexico Rewards: 20% Bonus (Through October 30)
The 20% bonus applies on top of Amex's standard Aeromexico transfer ratio. Aeromexico is a SkyTeam member, so its points can also book flights on partner airlines like Delta.
Air France-KLM Flying Blue: 25% Bonus (Through October 31)
Flying Blue is one of the most flexible programs for flights to Europe, and it publishes monthly Promo Rewards with discounted award prices. A 25% bonus turns 40,000 Amex points into 50,000 Flying Blue miles.
Cards that earn Membership Rewards include American Express® Gold Card (See Rates & Fees) and The Platinum Card® from American Express (See Rates & Fees).

Chase Ultimate Rewards Transfer Bonus
Marriott Bonvoy: 70% Bonus (Through October 15)
Chase points normally transfer to Marriott at 1:1. With the 70% bonus, 10,000 Ultimate Rewards points become 17,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.
This is a big percentage, but Marriott points are usually worth less than Chase points used other ways, like transfers to World of Hyatt. It can make sense if you need a few more points for a specific Marriott stay, especially with Marriott's fifth night free on award stays of five nights or more.
Chase cards that can transfer points to partners include the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve®.

Citi ThankYou Rewards Transfer Bonuses
Avianca LifeMiles: 25% Bonus (Through October 24)
LifeMiles is a Star Alliance program known for business class awards with no fuel surcharges. With the bonus, 1,000 ThankYou points become 1,250 LifeMiles when transferring from an eligible card like the Citi Strata Premier® Card.
Japan Airlines Mileage Bank: 30% Bonus (Through October 24)
Japan Airlines is a oneworld member, and its miles can book JAL flights to Asia plus partner flights on airlines like American and Alaska. A 30% bonus turns 50,000 ThankYou points into 65,000 JAL miles at a 1:1 standard ratio.

Capital One Miles Transfer Bonus
British Airways Club: 20% Bonus (Through October 31)
Capital One miles normally transfer to British Airways at 1:1, so 10,000 miles become 12,000 Avios with the bonus. Avios work well for short-haul flights on partner airlines, including American Airlines flights within the U.S.
Cards that earn transferable Capital One miles include the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card.

Is a Transfer Bonus Worth Using?
A bonus only helps if you were going to use the partner program anyway. Before you transfer, ask:
- Do you have a specific booking in mind? Find the award seat or hotel night first, then transfer. Points can't be moved back.
- Is the award actually available? Search the partner's site to confirm space before moving points.
- What would the trip cost in cash? Divide the cash price by the points needed. If the value per point is lower than you'd get using your card points another way, skip the bonus.
- How fast does the transfer post? Most transfers are instant or take a day or two, but some take longer, so leave time before booking.
Kudos tip: Transfer bonuses are one of the easiest ways to stretch points you already have. Kudos helps you earn more points on everyday spending by showing you the best card for every purchase, so you have a bigger balance ready when a bonus like these comes around.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a credit card transfer bonus?
It's a limited-time promotion where a card rewards program gives you extra points or miles when you transfer to a specific airline or hotel partner.
Can I reverse a points transfer?
No. Once points move to a partner program, they can't be moved back to your card account.
Do I need to register for a transfer bonus?
Usually not. The bonus applies automatically to eligible transfers made during the promotion, but check the terms in your card's rewards portal.
Which October transfer bonus ends first?
The Amex to Hilton bonus ends October 14, followed by Chase to Marriott on October 15.
Bottom Line
October's best transfer bonuses are the airline ones, especially Amex to Flying Blue, Citi to LifeMiles and JAL, and Capital One to British Airways, where miles tend to be worth more per point. The hotel bonuses to Hilton and Marriott can still help if you're a few points short of a specific stay. Whatever you choose, find your award first and transfer second.
