Citi Qatar Transfer Bonus: Up to 35% More Avios Through Oct. 31

Qatar Airways Privilege Club is running a tiered Citi Qatar transfer bonus from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31, 2026. Depending on how many Citi ThankYou points you move at once, you get 15%, 25%, or 35% more Avios.

How the Citi Qatar Transfer Bonus Tiers Work
The bonus is set per transaction, based on how many Avios a single transfer produces:
- 15% bonus: up to 49,999 Avios in one transfer
- 25% bonus: 50,000 to 99,999 Avios
- 35% bonus: 100,000 Avios or more
Separate transfers are not added together. Two 50,000-point transfers each earn 25%, while one 100,000-point transfer earns 35%. If you are close to a tier, consolidate into a single move.

Which Citi Cards Get the Full Ratio?
Your base ratio depends on which card you hold. The Citi Strata Premier® Card, the Citi Strata Elite℠ Card, and the legacy Citi Prestige® Card transfer to Qatar at 1:1.

No-annual-fee cards such as the Citi Double Cash® Card, the Citi Strata℠ Card, and the Citi Custom Cash® Card transfer at 1:0.7, so 1,000 points become 700 Avios before the bonus. If you hold both types, combine points into your premium card account first.

When Do Qatar Bonus Avios Post?
The bonus is paid by Qatar, not Citi, so you will not see it on the Citi transfer screen. Qatar's terms say bonus Avios post by Nov. 30, 2026. Many members report seeing them right away, but a past round took most of the promotion period to post, so do not book an award that depends on the bonus until it lands.
Qatar Avios also move 1:1 to British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, and Finnair, bonus Avios included. That makes this bonus useful even if you plan to fly another Avios airline.
Citi isn't the only program included. Qatar's bonus also applies to transfers from programs like World of Hyatt, IHG One Rewards, and ALL Accor, though hotel points usually transfer to airlines at much weaker ratios.
Is the Qatar Transfer Bonus Worth Using?
Only if you have a redemption in mind. A one-way Qsuites business class seat from the U.S. to Doha costs 70,000 Avios. With the 25% tier, that takes about 56,000 Citi points from a Strata Premier.
Without the bonus, the same seat costs the full 70,000 points, so the promotion saves roughly 14,000 points on a single award.
Booking a round trip? Transfer at least 100,000 points in one move to reach the 35% tier, and the same Qsuites seat works out to about 52,000 Citi points each way.
Calculation formulated by Kudos, based on a 1:1 Strata Premier transfer ratio, the 25% tier for transfers between 50,000 and 99,999 points, and the 35% tier for transfers of 100,000 points or more.
The Bottom Line
If you already planned to use Avios, move your Citi points in one transfer before Oct. 31 and aim for the 50,000 or 100,000 tier. If you have no trip in mind, keep your points flexible in Citi. Transfers cannot be reversed.
