Amex Platinum Adds Airbnb Luxe to Its $600 Lodging Credit, Plus a New $250 Airbnb Experiences Credit

American Express is adding Airbnb to two of the biggest benefits on The Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express.
Prepaid Airbnb Luxe stays booked through American Express Travel® now count toward the card's up to $600 annual Lodging Credit, and booking one unlocks a new up to $250 Airbnb Experiences credit. Here's how both work and what to know before you book.
What's New for Amex Platinum Card Members?
- Airbnb Luxe added to the lodging credit: The up to $600 credit, previously called the $600 Hotel Credit, now covers prepaid Airbnb Luxe stays along with Fine Hotels + Resorts® and The Hotel Collection bookings.
- A new $250 Airbnb Experiences credit: Book an eligible Airbnb Luxe stay through American Express Travel® and you unlock up to $250 in statement credits on Airbnb Experiences for the rest of that calendar year.
- Two-night minimum: Airbnb Luxe stays need at least two nights to earn the lodging credit, matching The Hotel Collection. Starting January 1, 2027, Fine Hotels + Resorts® bookings will need two nights too.
How Does Airbnb Luxe Work With the $600 Lodging Credit?

The lodging credit still works in two halves. Each card account can get up to $300 in statement credits from January through June and up to $300 from July through December, for up to $600 per calendar year, across Airbnb Luxe, Fine Hotels + Resorts®, and The Hotel Collection combined.
To count toward the credit, an Airbnb Luxe stay must:
- Be a new prepaid booking with Airbnb, made through AmexTravel.com or the Amex Travel App™
- Be at least two consecutive nights
- Be paid for with your Platinum Card® or Business Platinum Card® (bookings by Additional or Employee Card Members on the account count too)
- Be processed by 11:59 PM Central Time on June 30 or December 31 to count toward that half
Credits usually post within a few days but can take up to 90 days. Fees, interest, and charges made directly by the host or property aren't eligible, and unused credit doesn't roll over.

How Does the $250 Airbnb Experiences Credit Work?
The Airbnb Experiences credit is a separate benefit from the lodging credit. Here's how it works:
- How you unlock it: Book an eligible prepaid Airbnb Luxe stay through American Express Travel® with your Platinum Card® or Business Platinum Card®. It unlocks whether or not you use your lodging credit on that stay.
- How much you get: Up to $250 in statement credits on eligible Airbnb Experiences, once per calendar year.
- Where you book: Airbnb Experiences are booked directly with Airbnb, not through American Express Travel®.
- When to use it: Buy your Experience after your Airbnb Luxe booking is confirmed and before December 31. The Experience doesn't have to happen during your stay or in the same place, and it can take place later, even the following year.
Airbnb Experiences include activities like food tours, walking tours, and outdoor adventures hosted by locals. There's no minimum purchase, so the credit can cover a smaller activity or go toward a bigger one.

How to Book Airbnb Luxe Through American Express Travel
- Link your Airbnb account. Connect your Airbnb account to your American Express online account. The Airbnb account has to be in the same name as the Card Member, and only one Airbnb account can be linked at a time.
- Search Airbnb Luxe on American Express Travel®. Use AmexTravel.com or the Amex Travel App™. Airbnb bookings can't be made by phone.
- Book at least two nights and prepay with your card. The Card Member who books must also be staying at the property.
- Watch for the credit. It usually posts within a few days. If it hasn't shown up after 90 days, call the number on the back of your card.
- Book your Experience. Once your Luxe booking is confirmed, book an Airbnb Experience directly with Airbnb using your card before December 31.
What Should You Know Before Booking Airbnb Luxe?
Airbnb Luxe is Airbnb's collection of private homes in popular destinations that Airbnb has vetted for design and quality. It makes up a small share of Airbnb listings, so options vary by destination.
A few rules from Amex's terms to keep in mind:
- Airbnb manages your booking: Changes, cancellations, and issues go through Airbnb, not American Express Travel®.
- Stays are capped at 27 nights: Airbnb bookings through American Express Travel® can be up to 27 consecutive nights.
- Airbnb discounts may not apply: You may not be able to use Airbnb credits, coupons, gift cards, or host discounts on these bookings.
- Hotel perks may not apply: If an Airbnb Luxe home is affiliated with a hotel, you may not receive hotel loyalty or elite status benefits.
- Hosts may charge extra: Optional services can come with added fees, so check the listing before you book.

Amex Platinum Airbnb FAQ
Does Airbnb count toward the Amex Platinum lodging credit?
Only Airbnb Luxe stays do. They must be prepaid, booked through AmexTravel.com or the Amex Travel App™, and at least two nights. Regular Airbnb listings don't count toward the lodging credit.
How do I unlock the $250 Airbnb Experiences credit?
Book an eligible prepaid Airbnb Luxe stay through American Express Travel® with your Platinum Card® or Business Platinum Card®. The credit unlocks for the rest of that calendar year, even if you don't use your lodging credit on the stay.
Does my Airbnb Experience have to happen during my Luxe stay?
No. You can book an Experience in a different place or for a later date, including the following year, as long as you buy it after your Luxe booking is confirmed and by December 31.
Does the Business Platinum Card® get the Airbnb benefits too?
Yes. Both the Airbnb Luxe lodging credit and the $250 Airbnb Experiences credit apply to the Business Platinum Card® as well as the Platinum Card®.
Do I need to link my Airbnb account?
Yes. You need to link an Airbnb account in your name to your American Express online account before you can book Airbnb Luxe through American Express Travel®.
