Amex Platinum Saks Benefit Ending: How to Use Your Remaining $50 Credit
July 1, 2025

The $50 Saks Fifth Avenue statement credit disappears for good on July 1, 2026. Here's what you need to know before the deadline, what real cardmembers actually bought with it, and what else your American Express Platinum Card® is still doing for you.
If you have an Amex Platinum card, you have until June 30, 2026, to use your last $50 Saks Fifth Avenue statement credit. After that, the benefit is gone for good.
Amex confirmed that, effective July 1, 2026, the Saks benefit will no longer be available. The credit has been a staple Platinum perk for years, $50 in the first half of the year and $50 in the second half, for a total of $100 annually. This June 30 deadline closes out the H1 2026 credit and marks the end of the benefit entirely.
Here's how to make the most of it before it disappears.
How the Saks Benefit Works
The Amex Platinum Saks benefit gives you up to $50 in statement credits per six-month period for purchases made at Saks Fifth Avenue or saksfifthavenue.com. The credit applies automatically when you pay with your Platinum card.
One important heads-up: Saks gift cards are no longer accepted on the Saks Off 5th website as of February 15, 2026, though they're still accepted in-store.
Best Things to Buy at Saks for Under $50
The trick with this benefit has always been finding items that land right at or under the $50 threshold, things you'd actually use, not luxury filler you bought just to zero out the credit. Here's what Amex cardmembers have actually purchased:
Kitchen and Home
Saks carries a solid selection of Zwilling J.A. Henckels cookware and kitchen tools in the $40 to $50 range. Cardmembers have grabbed grill pans, sauté pans, and kitchen knives (note: some knife options have been removed from the site recently). Baking dishes and small home goods are also worth browsing.
Beauty and Grooming
The beauty section is one of the easier places to hit the $50 mark. Fragrance samplers and mini sets, including travel-sized luxury cologne sets, frequently come in under the credit amount. Skincare and mascara from premium brands are also popular picks.
Apparel Basics
Hugo Boss underwear and basics have been a recurring buy for cardmembers looking to stretch the credit on everyday items. Saks also runs 60 to 70% off sales toward the end of the month, which is worth timing your purchase around if you want to layer the credit on top of a markdown.
Accessories and Gifts
Tumi wallets, small leather goods, and picnic blankets have all come in at or near the $50 mark. This is also a good opportunity to grab a gift: jewelry, a small home item, or a beauty set are easy wins.
Pro Tips to Maximize the Credit
Stack with Kudos Boost. You can earn 1.3% additional cash back on top of the statement credit when you check out at Saks using Kudos and activate Kudos Boost. Cardmembers have reported 5x to 10x point multipliers this way.
Shop end-of-month sales. Saks frequently runs deep discount events toward the end of each month. Timing your purchase around a 60 to 70% off sale means you can stretch the $50 credit further.
Buy things you'd actually use. The people who got the most out of this benefit weren't buying $50 t-shirts. They were stocking up on kitchen staples, travel-size toiletries, and quality basics at no real cost.
What's Replacing the Saks Benefit?
Amex hasn't announced a direct replacement yet. The Lululemon credit, which has been available alongside the Saks credit for the past year, is already on the card, so it's not a swap. Whether Amex introduces a new retail credit after July 1 is still to be determined.
What the Amex Platinum Still Gives You
Losing the Saks credit stings a little, but the Platinum card still carries a serious amount of value. The annual fee is offset by the statement credits if you're using everything available to you.
Here's a quick look at what's still on the card:

Tracking everything is the hard part. The average cardholder forgets to redeem $624 in benefits every year. Kudos automatically tracks your Amex Platinum credits, alerts you before anything expires, and shows you exactly what you've used and what's still on the table.
The Bottom Line
You have until June 30, 2026, to use your $50 Saks credit. Whether you grab a kitchen pan, a fragrance set, or a quality basic you've been putting off buying, this is your last chance.
After that, the benefit is gone. The rest of your Platinum card, though, is still doing a lot of heavy lifting. Make sure you're actually using it.
