If your Discover card moved to Capital One this summer, there is a welcome offer waiting in Capital One Travel. The Capital One Travel offer for Discover cardholders pays 15% cash back on your first hotel or vacation rental booking, up to $200. The first deadline is Oct. 25, 2026, and it is easy to miss.

What the Capital One Travel Offer Pays
You earn 15% cash back on one hotel or vacation rental reservation booked through Capital One Travel, capped at $200. You reach that cap at about $1,333 in spend, and taxes and fees count toward it.
- One booking only: the offer applies to a single reservation per account.
- Packages: only the hotel portion of a package booking qualifies.
- Payout: cash back usually posts within 10 days, but can take up to two statement cycles.
The offer is available while supplies last and is not retroactive.

Deadlines for the Discover Capital One Travel Offer
Two dates matter. You must set up Capital One online access for your converted card by Oct. 25, 2026. You then have 180 days from that setup to make the qualifying booking.
The offer banner shows an expiration of Jan. 23, 2027. If you set up access in the next three weeks, book well before the 180-day window closes so you are not caught by either date.

Does the 15% Stack With the 5% Rate?
No. Converted Discover cards already earn 5% on hotels, vacation rentals, rental cars, and activities booked through Capital One Travel. The offer terms say the 15% applies instead of that standard rate, so the real extra value is 10 percentage points, not 15.
On a $1,333 stay, that is about $133 more than you would have earned anyway. Still worth it if you were going to book a hotel, but not a reason to take a trip.

How to Find and Use the Offer
Log in to Capital One with your converted card, open Capital One Travel, and look for the Travel Offers section. The offer may be targeted, so not every former Discover account will see it.
Before you book, compare the portal price with booking direct. Portal stays usually do not earn hotel elite night credit or points, which matters if you hold status. Cards like the Discover it® Cash Back keep their rotating categories after the move, so check which card earns more on the rest of your trip.
Converted Discover cards include the Discover it® Cash Back Credit Card, NHL Discover it® Credit Card, Discover it® Student Cash Back, Fresno State Discover Card, Northern Illinois University Discover Card, Northwestern Discover Card, The Humane Society of the U.S. Discover it®, Western Michigan Discover Card, Texas Tech Discover Card, and the Discover More Card. Because the offer is targeted, holding one of these cards does not guarantee you will see it.
