Capital One Miles to Qantas: 20% Transfer Bonus (May 2026)
July 1, 2025

Capital One is running a 20% transfer bonus to Qantas Frequent Flyer through May 31, 2026. If you have a Venture X or Venture card with miles sitting idle, there are a few redemptions worth moving on before the deadline.
Here's which cards are eligible, what the bonus actually gets you, and the sweet spot routes worth targeting.
What the Bonus Is
Through May 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM Pacific, Capital One miles transfer to Qantas Frequent Flyer at a boosted rate:
- 100,000 Capital One miles → 120,000 Qantas points (normally 1:1)
- Transfers complete in 24 to 48 hours
- The deadline is when you initiate the transfer, not when you use the points
Which Capital One Cards Are Eligible
Not all Capital One cards can transfer to airline partners. You need a card that earns Capital One Miles, not cash back rewards.
Cards that qualify:
- Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card
- Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card
- Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card
- Capital One Spark Miles for Business

Sweet Spot Routes Worth Targeting
Qantas uses a distance-based award chart, which creates some genuinely good redemptions — especially for routes other OneWorld programs price poorly.
LAX to Tahiti (PPT) in economy: ~25,000 Capital One miles
This is the standout. Qantas prices LAX to Tahiti on Air Tahiti Nui at 29,000 points in economy. With the 20% bonus, that's roughly 25,000 Capital One miles. American prices the same flight at 80,000 miles and Alaska at 30,000 points. Qantas wins by a lot here, and Capital One miles are generally easier to accumulate than Alaska Atmos Rewards.
East Coast US to Israel on El Al in business: 90,000 points
Qantas prices El Al business class from Tel Aviv to Boston, Newark, and JFK at 90,000 points with no fuel surcharges. Miami runs 104,500 points and Los Angeles 119,200 points. With the transfer bonus, you're moving fewer Capital One miles to cover those routes.
Short American Airlines flights: 8,000 to 12,000 points
Qantas prices American Airlines itineraries under 600 miles at 8,000 points and under 1,200 miles at 12,000 points. No close-in booking fee either. This is better pricing than booking direct through AAdvantage on short routes, and Qantas measures cumulative distance rather than pricing each segment separately, which helps on connecting itineraries.
American Airlines business class to Western Europe: 57,000 points
Qantas charges 57,000 points for American Airlines business class on routes between 2,401 and 3,600 miles. That covers most nonstop routes from the Northeast US to Western Europe and is competitive with other OneWorld programs.
LAX to Sydney in business class: 108,400 points
The most talked-about sweet spot. Qantas business class from Los Angeles to Sydney on Qantas metal runs 108,400 points one way. Cash fares on this route frequently exceed $10,000. With the bonus, you need about 91,000 Capital One miles to cover it. Worth noting that award costs on this route increased in 2025, so it's less of a slam dunk than it used to be, but still strong for the routing.
How to Search Qantas Awards
Search at Qantas.com. You'll need to create a free Qantas Frequent Flyer account to see award availability. The app surfaces more availability than the desktop site on some routes, so if you're not finding space, try there first.
Note that Qantas maintains separate award charts depending on which airline you're flying. Partner pricing is different from Qantas metal pricing.
Before You Transfer
Once you transfer miles to Qantas, they cannot come back. Only move miles you have a specific redemption in mind for. Alaska Mileage Plan or Avios may offer better value on some routes, so it's worth checking both before committing.
The Deadline
Transfers must be started by 11:59 PM Pacific on May 31, 2026. Points land in your Qantas account within 24 to 48 hours, so you'll have them in early June with time to book.
