If you carry the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and you do not already hold Marriott Bonvoy elite status, there is a benefit sitting in your account that expires at the end of this month.
Chase is offering eligible Sapphire Reserve cardholders three months of complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status. Enrollment runs through September 30, 2026. Stay three paid qualifying nights during those three months and the status extends through February 2028.
The enrollment step is the part people miss. The status does not appear on its own, and once the registration window closes, it closes.

Points are not earned until after the first $300 is spent annually on travel purchases. The first $300 goes toward the $300 Annual Travel Credit.
What the Sapphire Reserve Marriott Bonvoy Gold Offer Includes
Cardholders of the Chase Sapphire Reserve® who register receive three months of Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status, counted from the date of enrollment rather than from a fixed calendar date.
During that three month window, three paid qualifying nights booked directly with Marriott extend Gold Elite status through February 2028.
Two categories of stay do not count toward the three nights:
- Nights booked through third parties, including online travel agencies
- Award nights redeemed with Marriott Bonvoy points or free night awards
How to Enroll Before September 30
Registration happens on the Chase side, not through Marriott.
- Open the benefits section of your Sapphire Reserve account on chase.com or in the Chase mobile app.
- Locate the Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status offer and register.
- Allow a few business days for Gold Elite status to appear in your Marriott Bonvoy account.
Confirm the status landed in your Marriott account before you book. If you book the three nights before the status posts, you risk the nights falling outside your qualifying window.
When Should You Time Your Enrollment?
Your three month clock starts when you register, so the calendar matters more than it looks.
If you already have a Marriott stay on the books for October or November, register now and let the trip do the qualifying work. If your next hotel stay is further out, enrolling closer to September 30 pushes the end of your qualifying window later into December.
Either way, the outside date to register is September 30, 2026.
Who Should Skip This Offer?
Anyone who already holds Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status or higher. The promotion grants Gold, so it adds nothing on top of Gold, Platinum, Titanium, or Ambassador.
It is worth registering if you currently have no Marriott status or Silver Elite status.
What Does Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite Status Actually Get You?
Gold Elite is the third tier in the Marriott Bonvoy program, and the practical benefits show up at check in:
- Enhanced room upgrades, subject to availability
- Late checkout, subject to availability
- Bonus Marriott Bonvoy points on eligible paid stays

Several co-branded Marriott Bonvoy cards also carry Gold or Platinum Elite status and annual elite night credits. If you hold one of those already, this Chase offer is redundant for you.
