Barclays Is Running 5x Spend Bonuses Again. Check Your Offers Tab Before October 31

Barclays has launched a new round of targeted spend bonuses for its co-branded cardholders, live through October 31, 2026. Doctor of Credit confirmed the new round on September 6.
What the offers look like
- The headline version: an extra 5x points per dollar, sometimes everywhere, sometimes limited to grocery, restaurants and drugstores.
- Spend caps vary. Past rounds capped bonus earning at a few hundred dollars of spend, so realistic upside is a few thousand bonus points, not a windfall.
- No public link. These are targeted. Log into your Barclays account, open the Offers tab for each card, and scroll.
Barclays emails some targeted cardholders, but plenty of live offers never generate an email.
The step most people miss
You have to register. These bonuses are opt-in, and spending without registering earns you nothing extra. Offers also sometimes vanish from the Offers list after you register, so screenshot the terms first: the spend cap, the eligible categories, the end date.
Check every card separately. Offers are card-specific and are not always the same across your accounts.
Why this changes your default card
A Barclays co-branded card is probably not your usual grocery card. The same card carrying a temporary extra 5x on grocery, capped at a few hundred dollars of spend, absolutely is, for that spend, and then it is not again. This is why a fixed mental rule like always putting groceries on the same card quietly leaks money. The right card changes based on live offers you did not know you had, with a cap you have to track and an end date you will forget. One caution: these offers pay in the co-brand currency, not a flexible one. Five extra points per dollar in a hotel program you never use is worth less than plain cash back.If you hold a Barclays card, spend two minutes checking. Activate now rather than late October, because a cap is easier to fill over eight weeks than eight days.
